MCAU é um estúdio de design de São Paulo, fundado pela designer, artista e pesquisadora Maria Cau Levy. Desde 2014 experimenta na fronteira entre teoria e prática, desenvolvendo projetos autorais e em coletivo. É mestra pela FAU-USP e professora de desenho na FAU Escola da Cidade. Recebeu o Prêmio Jabuti (2020 – projeto gráfico), Latin America Design Awards (2022, 2023), Brasil Design Awards (2020, 2021), Prêmio Profissionais da Música (2019 e 2021 – designer). Já colaborou com os artistas O Terno, Ana Frango Elétrico, Liniker, Luiza Lian, Xênia França entre outros. Em 2023 lançou seu primeiro livro “Objeto-Aula: Exercícios de desenho a partir dos Vkhutemas” (Kinoruss Editora). É co-fundadora do espaço independente de pesquisa e difusão em design @galpaocomum.
MCAU is a design studio based in São Paulo, founded by the designer, artist and researcher Maria Cau Levy. Since 2014, they have been exploring the intersection of theory and practice, developing authorial and collective projects. They hold a master’s degree from FAU-USP and they are drawing teacher at FAU Escola da Cidade. Received the Jabuti Award (2020 – graphic design), Latin America Design Awards (2022, 2023), Brasil Design Awards (2020, 2021), Music Professionals Award (2019 and 2021 – designer). They have collaborated with the artists O Terno, Ana Frango Elétrico, Liniker, Luiza Lian, Xênia França among others. In 2023 they released their first book “Objeto-Aula: Lessons from Vkhutemas” (Kinoruss Editora). They are co-founder of the independent research and dissemination space @galpaocomum.
